Health & Beauty Remedies

  1. Rubbing toothpaste on a hickey with a toothbrush in circular motions will alleviate the blood clot and circulate the blood, thus lightening the appearance of a hickey!
  2. Applying aloe to sunburns 
  3. Applying a dab of toothpaste to a pimple will dry the oil from your pores. Let the toothpaste dry and hardened then remove with warm water only. 
  4. Orange peels can be used to remove stains from your teeth. 
  5. Applying cucumber slices to your eyes for an hour a day will alleviate dark spots and rings from underneath your eyes. 
  6. Using flat beer to rinse through your hair will strip your hair of excess hair care products and oils.
  7. Good old mayonnaise in your hair will return the cholesterol your hair needs to grow healthily.
  8. Using tea bags under your eyes will alleviate dark spots and circles.
  9. Create an at-home spa facial for yourself using egg whites. Remove yolks from 3 large eggs. Beat the egg whites until pasty and apply to face. Allow the mask time to dry and harden before removing with warm water and hypo-allergenic soap. 
  10. A good old glass of milk will take the heartburn away! 
  11. Got a sore throat? Try filling a tablespoon with honey and lemon juice then swallowing it. 
  12. Another great cure for a sore throat is to drop a Halls in a cup of tea!

First Aide Remedies

  1. Applying mint or spearmint toothpaste on burns soothes the pain.
  2. Applying aloe on burns soothes the pain. 
  3. Using liquid Vitamin E on burns, cuts or scratches will prevent deep scarring.
  4. Use a Cognac or Anisette to alleviate toothache. Swish the alcohol around the area of pain, let it sit on the exact area for a few minutes before swallowing. This will not mend the toothache but it will temporarily numb the area, giving you enough time to get to the dentist!

Cleaning Remedies
  1. Pouring coffee grinds down your drain to prevent or remove slight clogging.
  2. Wiping down CDs and DVDs with a little Windex will help prevent dust and dirt from getting in your stereo or DVD player.
  3. For scratch CDs and DVDs, carefully coat them with Vaseline. Wipe the Vaseline off from the center of the disc to the edge in a counterclockwise rotation. Make sure you have removed all traces of excess Vaseline before inserting into your player.
  4. Using white vinegar to clean glass, mirrors and windows will create pristine appearance.
  5. Using newspapers to clean mirrors and windows will create streak-free cleanliness.
  6. Simmer a small amount of Fabuloso cleaner on the stove will act as an air freshener for the entire house. Do not leave pot unattended or heat any higher than the lowest or simmer setting.
